Providing cozy, family-friendly cottages where guests can relax, enjoy nature, and explore Restoule
The Luksa Collective’s Commanda Lake Modern Log Cottages offer three private, fully equipped cottages on the shores of pristine Commanda Lake in Restoule, Ontario. Each cottage features 620 sq. ft. of space with a complete kitchen, barbecue, spacious roofed deck, and sleeping accommodations for up to seven guests. With 120 ft. of lakefront per property, private beaches, and seclusive boreal forest surroundings, the cottages provide a peaceful escape where families, friends, and couples can rest, play, and explore the surrounding lake and township activities. The team approached us to create a website that would reflect the cozy, rustic charm of the cottages while making reservations simple and seamless.
The Challenge
Starting from scratch with no website or brand presence
When it first started, Commanda Log Cottages had no website or formal brand identity. Potential guests had no clear way to explore the cottages, learn about amenities, or make reservations online. The challenge was to create a full digital presence from the ground up that captured the cozy, rustic, family-friendly charm of the cottages while providing an intuitive, seamless booking experience.
The Direction
Cozy, rustic, and family-focused with immersive visuals and a crafted brand identity
We built the website from the ground up to reflect the rustic charm and relaxing atmosphere of cottage life. The design emphasizes warm textures, soft typography, and organized layouts. Beautiful photography highlights the cottages, lakefront views, forest surroundings, and outdoor activities, giving visitors a sense of what their stay would feel like. To reinforce the brand, we crafted a rustic logo with subtle log patterns, tying the digital experience to the physical cottages and enhancing the cozy, nature-inspired aesthetic. Subtle animations guide users through content without distraction, while clear navigation and simple booking functionality make it easy for families, friends, and couples to plan their stay.

The redesigned website offers an intuitive, family-friendly experience that mirrors the charm of staying at Commanda Lake. Visitors can easily explore each cottage, view amenities, read testimonials, and book their stay online. The combination of rustic-modern design, immersive photography, and a clear, organized layout conveys the relaxing and playful nature of the cottages and surrounding scenery. Guests now feel connected to the environment and experience before arrival, while content can be effortlessly managed to showcase the cottages consistently, making every visit to the website as welcoming as the cottages themselves.
Unique Functionality
Seamless booking and effortless content management
We implemented a custom ACF system in WordPress to easily manage cottage amenities, guest testimonials, and Restoule guide. This allows the team to update property details, add new amenities, new activities, and showcase positive guest experiences without constant developer support. Additionally, the booking system provides a seamless experience for visitors, featuring a clearly laid-out calendar that displays availability and pricing at a glance. Guests can effortlessly plan and reserve their stay.
